I remember on my darkest days of being burned out I would oversleep to avoid the pain, turn to food to cope, dissociate during work hours, and almost killed myself driving home. I hope you never have to experience burnout like I did.
In 2014 I finally gained the insight that I had experienced burnout for close to two years & started making adjustments to my lifestyle. I knew there had to be a way to live a more intentional, purposeful life filled with adventure, love, and passion. Fast forward a few years and in 2019 I completed my dissertation on self-compassion, life balance, and burnout in counselors. Now I'm on a mission to help as many mental health professionals as humanly possible learn more about burnout and what you can do to avoid it completely!
